75th Holocaust Commemoration

Thursday 23rd, January 2020.

Together with his German counterpart the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany  Thomas Wimmer and Newton  Kanhema, Deputy Director of the United Nations Information Centre, Ambassador Eyal David once again graced the University with his presence and was joined by the members of the university Governing council, faculty, students, and staff as Kenya joined the world in remembering the holocaust.

The three attended the 75th commemoration of the International Day in memory of victims of the holocaust at Pioneer International University where the holocaust exhibition was being showcased by the International Relations students.

This year’s International Holocaust Memorial Day was commemorated by a series of events. The main one being held at the UN headquarters and the other two were at Pioneer International University where the VC declared that from now on, we will do our own commemoration annually.

The event was very respectful and emotional. No matter where we are in the world, it is our duty to tell the story of the 6 million Jews that were killed in the Holocaust and of the survivors, to remember and never forget!

The Ambassador concluded by saying that no one should witness an atrocity like the holocaust.
